SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
1. First, read what Sorrowland Press is about (About SP). Second, take a look at Dance to Death (D2D) and the abridged online versions of I See a Darkness and Jalapeno Diamond (ISAD & JD). Lastly, submit accordingly to nollama@sorrowlandpress.com (or, if any email issues, to duendesaudade@hotmail.com). For those who seek some slight precision, D2D tends to prefer poems that are concise, original, dark, humorous, and sensitive. We also like expeditions through the jungle of the mind, preferably when in an anxious state or when using perception altering and enhancing substances. On the other hand, we are less fond of long poems. We are not into vampires, either. 2. The email header should have as its title “Submissions for Dance to Death.” 3. Introductory formalities are not necessary but not unwelcome, either. 4. Send submissions pasted in email or in attachments. 5. English and French submissions are welcome. 6. Multiple submissions permitted (see rule #13). 7. Three poems per month maximum. 8. Three short stories, poetic prose, or dialogues per month, with an approximate limit of 250 words (an exercise in concision). 9. You will get a confirmation when we receive your work. However, expect from one to two to three months to receive an answer on the acceptance of your work. If we have not chosen to publish your work you will not be notified, unless, of course, we have some pertinent comments to share. But feel free to enquire about the status of your work at nollama@sorrowlandpress.com. 10. The evaluation process for Dance to Death is fair and free of incest. 11. There is no payment for there is no money. 12. If any changes to your work is made, you will be notified and asked if you are willing to accept such editorial modifications or if you wish to offer a counter proposal. 13. Rights for published works will remain with you. Yet, if any work is published elsewhere, after having been published by Sorrowland Press, mention of its publication at Sorrowland Press must be made. 14. The general practice of a serial publication is to guarantee timing, but not necessarily quality. We will attempt to do the opposite. 15. Please comply with these simple rules. If you do not, you risk being ignored. And what a terrible fate that is. |
